Physical Therapy Services

What makes our therapists different?

Our therapists have gone through advanced levels of post-graduate physical therapy fellowship training to become certified Orthopedic Manual Therapists (OMTs).  Our board certifications in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Doctorate level training integrate a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, tissue repair, and bio-mechanical function founded on evidence-based clinical reasoning and treatment.

We provide the most comprehensive evaluations and treatments that target the cause of the problem rather than just the symptoms to resolve injury disorders in fewer treatment sessions.  Treatments include a combination of manual therapy and exercise using the most current evidence-based interventions, prescribed home exercise and gym program, preventive education and strategies in ergonomics, body mechanics and nutrition to optimize your healing.

We communicate with your physician about your progress while offering a multi-disciplinary approach to care with other medical practitioners in orthopedics, sports medicine, internal medicine, physiatry, chronic pain management, dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, acupuncture, biofeedback, and massage therapy. By integrating these specialty services with our practice, we can ensure that you receive the most comprehensive care necessary to return you to optimal wellness.

Specialized Services and Programs

Our advanced clinical training in manual therapy allows us to treat all simple to complex orthopedic musculoskeletal conditions. Pain syndromes can be due to a compensatory condition or a biomechanical dysfunction stemming from another part of the musculoskeletal system. We offer one of the most comprehensive evaluation approaches with our specialty services to identify these compensations, resolve your problem, and ensure your highest level of recovery.

Whether you are an athlete, a weekend warrior, or someone just trying to enjoy the backdoors, we have the resources necessary to get your game back. Our focus is to optimize your recovery for return to your specific sport and activity while minimizing your exposure to re-injury.
Every comprehensive evaluation involves a thorough neurological screening. Our nervous system determines our function and adaptability. Identifying movement pattern impairments, gait deficits, muscle atrophy and motor learning impairments are some of the key analysis we provide to effectively treat patients with stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy and Fibromyalgia.
We provide a comprehensive fall and balance evaluation and treatment program that safely returns you back to your activities of daily living, sports and recreational activities. Our balance program identifies the areas of physical, neurological, vestibular and cognitive impairments that require attention and through prescribed exercises, we are able to treat these areas to improve dizziness, balance and disequilibrium.
We are what we eat. We are only as good as the type of nutrition we put into our bodies to work. Proper nutrition intake is essential to allow injured tissue to heal properly and to recover quickly. We can provide you with the proper nutrition and supplement guidelines that will aide your recovery and fuel your tissues to heal well.
Having the proper postural alignment and body mechanics for repetitive tasks are essential to preventing work related injuries. We provide a comprehensive ergonomic assessment that will help you work more efficiently, maintain a pain free posture and be more productive while minimizing injury.
Advance Fitness is designed to further improve your conditioning beyond your rehabilitation in physical therapy. This gym program allows you to improve your conditioning and focus on specific training and exercise independently at our Redwood City facility while benefiting from the direct supervision provided from our clinical staff. You can exercise at your own pace, use the specialized equipment that you’ve become familiar with, and feel confident and safe that you are implementing exercises appropriately to avoid injury. Participants comment that this program fuels their natural desire to attain a higher level of fitness after their course of physical therapy and provides a smooth transition towards independent management.
We specialize in the evaluation and treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunctions. Often times, jaw and facial pain are under-diagnosed, under-treated and not referred for proper management during the initial stages of pain. TMJ disorders can involve migraines, headaches, vestibular problems, facial pain, neck pain and shoulder pain. We provide a comprehensive assessment to identify the causes of TMJ dysfunction and provide the proper treatment program necessary to resolve the symptoms and restore pain free jaw function.

Our greatest reward is knowing that what we do best transforms lives and provides a renewed zest for living pain free.
